What is deferral?

It is the postponing of the start of your studies, if you have been made an offer into a degree program and it is before census date, you may apply to defer the start of your program.

You can defer most undergraduate programs until Trimester 1 in the next calendar year, to a maximum period of 12 months.

You may lose your deferred place if you apply for other courses. If you would like to apply for time off after census date, you need to apply for a Leave of Absence.
