If I drop out of a course, do I still have to pay fees?

Updated 06/03/2019 11.56 AM

Whether or not you have to pay fees depends on whether you drop the course before or after its census date.

If you drop a course on or before its census date, you will not have to pay the course fees or the Student Service and Amenities Fee (SSAF) for that course.

If you drop the course after its census date, you will have to pay the course fees, including the SSAF.

To find the census date for a course you can:

  1. Go to Programs and Courses.
  2. Enter the course code and select the 'Courses' button.
  3. Click 'Search'.
  4. Select the required course offering.
  5. The census date is shown under 'Key Dates'.

You are required to maintain a study load that enables you to complete your degree within the dates of your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). If you are intending to study less than a full/standard load this trimester, please make an appointment to meet with an International Student Advisor to discuss your circumstances. Approval is required for a reduced study load.
