What is a pre-requisite?

Updated 04/05/2022 09.21 AM

A pre-requisite course is a course that must be completed, and for which specified minimum grade must be obtained before another specified course may be commenced. If a course you are enrolled in has a pre-requisite, you must ensure you have completed and passed it in an earlier trimester.

To find out whether your course has any pre-requisites:

1. Go to the Programs and Courses website.
2. Switch to 'Courses' in the Search for a degree.
3. Search by keyword or course code.
4. Click the course.
5. Any pre-requisite information will be listed in the course description located under the course heading.

If you need more information about pre-requisites, please send us an email via Ask a Question or contact Student Connect.
