What is the difference between advanced standing and specified and unspecified credit?

Updated 02/12/2020 03.47 PM

Advanced standing is the granting of block credit of a trimester or more, and reduces the number of courses you must undertake to successfully complete a program.

Specified and unspecified credit is granted for one or more specific courses in a program, exempting you from those courses or electives, and awarding the appropriate credit points in their place.

See Section 5.0 of the Credit and Recognition of Prior Learning Procedure for full definitions of these terms.
