Can I conduct fieldwork and data gathering away from the University?
Yes. Please ensure you read the information provided at Study away.
A period studying away from the University usually is taken for the purpose of conducting fieldwork and data gathering. You remain enrolled whilst studying away from the University, and the following approvals are required:
- periods of less than three months are approved by your principal supervisor
- periods of three to twelve months are approved by the Dean or Deputy Dean (Research) using the Higher Degree Research Short Term Study Away From the University form (PDF 29k).
- periods in excess of twelve months is considered to be candidature located away from the University and require a different approval process
